1. What we collect

• Account data: email, name, country, optional phone and profile photo URL.
• Flight posts: departure/destination, dates, airline, available weight, description.
• Messages: chat content between users, timestamps, read status.
• Connection requests: pending/accepted/declined status linked to a flight.
• Reports & blocks: content you submit for moderation and users you block.
• Technical: minimal logs (IP, user-agent) for security and rate-limiting.

2. How we use it

• To run the platform: showing flights, delivering messages, connecting travelers with senders.
• To keep users safe: enforcing rate limits, blocks, and reviewing reports.
• To notify you (in-app and browser notifications you opted into).
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who can see what

• Your public profile (name, country, photo) is visible to other signed-in users.
• Your flight posts are visible in search to signed-in users.
• Your messages and connection requests are only visible to you and the other participant.
• Reports and blocks are only visible to you and to our moderation team.

4. Data storage

Data is stored on our backend infrastructure. Access is restricted by row-level security policies so only the rightful owner or participant (and our authorised moderators) can read it.

5. Retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. When you do, we permanently remove your profile, flight posts, messages, connections, blocks, and reports you filed. Backups may retain data for up to 30 days before rotation.

6. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise them.

7. Cookies

We use only strictly-necessary storage (auth session, notification preference). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Children

HelicopterShare is not intended for anyone under 18.

9. Changes

We will announce material changes to this policy in-app.
